'Cardboard Bombers' for practicing the airbus drills before going into the sim. Posted by Picasa

Just to stay current with this, this is the venue for the latest part fo the course - Dibden Manor, home of CTC and where they put us up for 3 weeks to feed us excessively, do our crew resource management training (examining loads of videos of incidents where teamwork broke down and caused accidents, and deciding how not to do the same), multi crew conversion (5 x 4 hour simulator sessions in the airbus sim bridging between single pilot operations to working as a 2 crew operation, learning the roles, communication and how to deal effectively with emergencies) and the Jet orientation (4 x 4 hour sim sessions getting used to manual flying a jet that weighs 50 times as much, flies 3 times the speed and climbs about 4 times as fast, as well as having about 5 times the amount of switches that we're used to). Here's a few photos of the sims etc. Next step, back in Aber for an indefinite amount of time (hopfully a couple of weeks, but maybe quite a lot longer) waiting for easyJet to clear their training backlog and put us through our final qualification- the airbus type rating.. Posted by Picasa
